I feel like this whole weeks has been about catching up on all that I let go of while Madie was sick. The house was kinda out of control, and I had so much to get done for school. I think this semester was about the instructors cramming as much info into my little head as they could. Then with one week left they expect me to take my newfound knowledge and turn in these stellar papers, and take all these quiz's and exams. in less than 3 weeks I've written 6 papers (2 of which were 8 pages), participated in 3 discussion boards, taken 6 quiz's, submitted one video project as a final, and completed 4 final exams.... And I wonder why I am so excited at the prospect of driving 6 plus hours with 4 children to Bama to spend Spring Break with my fab sister? Sanctuary!!
I sent my camera to Vietnam on it's very own vacation. My wonderful father in law is in Vietnam on a missions trip to help with the building of churches, and training of pastor's there. We sent along a laptop and our camera for him to use. I hope these tools are being helpful to him in his works. Before he left though we made him celebrate his Anniversary. (Well, we didn't make him... but it made for a full weekend for the guy!) Don and Marsha have been married for 40 years!
Here is the happy couple showing us what it was like 40 years ago!
Some things never change... Well maybe Marsha's hair style.
I panicked when I arrived with the cake of the left,
only to find the cake on the right!
We had 2 sheet cakes to feed 25 people.
Everyone got to take a (large) piece home!
Other news...
Noah got to visit Carol, his occupational therapist. She gave us some ideas on products that would help Noah. One was a compression vest. He tried it during his therapy session and he LOVED it. If there was a stronger emotion word, he would have used it. We are also looking at some other products to use in the home to help him out. We are also looking at camps for the summer that specialize with kids on the spectrum. Noah thrives on structure, and when school gets out, he tends to go bonkers. To make these a reality we have decided to apply for social security for Noah. We have discovered that the spectrum is considered an applicable disability for children. The monthly benefit would be a great help in offsetting the cost of activities that are recommended, and the products required to help him. I go to SSI this next week, and I am hoping for a smooth appointment! What an opportunity to know that I can make sure Noah gets the resources he needs to help him succeed!
This weekend is about studying for finals, cleaning, and prepping for our busy schedule the following weekend! We are going to a wedding on Saturday, and then Sunday morning the kids and I head out for our spring break vaca!! YESAH!
I'll try to have something more funny, or interesting next time! :)
