Day two of Winter storm watch 09 brought is an inch of ice, and then 3 more inches on top of the 8 inches from day one. This would have been OK with me, except for the weight of the snow on top of the ice snapped tree limbs and power lines. So with no heat we trekked to Mundy Mountain... I mean my in law's house. I don't know who they know, but they always keep power while we are in the dark, and they have not one, but two fireplaces.
My BFF, Laurel, and her husband, who happens to be my husband's BFF ( confusing, I know) were in the dark with their two girls, Michaela (Madie's BFF) and Christa. So they came over to get warm, and maybe sled.
Both of our 4wd's up the mile long driveway created two perfect tracks for sleds!!
I think we spent a whole hour of our day indoors.
Here I am warming my bum in my fashionable boots. :) I am wearing two sets of long johns too! What can I say, I am from California!
Here is the Mogel Team!
This poor sled took one for the team

Look Ma No hands!
A couple trips down the hill and Annika was off to explore the winter wonderland. There were a few "Annika spottings"
Here she is giving us her best "vintage Big Foot" impression.

We had so much fun we had to jump for joy!

Here is the Good Dr. Vogel now, as she sleds down the hill with perfect posture and grace...
And here is my husband, smiling as he zings past me.
I have lots of nature pictures, and so many good pictures. I may post on that another time.
For now I'm going backwards in time. :)
